Is AI a competition or a threat?
Whenever we hear the word AI (Artificial Intelligence) we tend to visualize a future filled with robots and automation. But even after so many years working with or alongside AI, we haven’t come close to what we initially thought it would look like. We do have robots that talk like humans, many of us even use AI tools for various jobs in our day to day lives. But it doesn’t change the fact that AI won’t be taking over any human work in its totality. AI threatening the work of small scale content writers. But it can’t change the humanization of the work.
What is AI changing?
It is changing the definition of working smart. It has bought a great change in the mass media, writing and gaming industries by helping people with budget friendly writing, strategizing and designing. It is also used for low-level animation and fact checking. It has created great opportunities for those who are specially-abled or chronically ill, but have great creative thinking capacity. With the help of AI people with too many work barriers can come closer to what we call making a livelihood. It not only helps such people work but also live their life with confidence. AI also helps them communicate and inform better. It is seen in recent times that the health monitoring devises have been of great use for managing and monitoring health conditions easier.
What can AI not be a threat to and why?
It can be a little obstructing to all sought of writers, strategists and analysts. Even though AI can be disturbing the value of these professions (at a very low rate), it can’t entirely takeover these professions. AI can’t replicate the human creative thinking, originality and diverse emotions. At the end of the day, it is made by the humans themselves. As long as we know how to adapt to the human + AI used for work we can always have it as a competition. AI if used in a proper way can be beneficial. It is not necessarily a problem if taken help of, till certain extent. It is not a replacement, instead a tool to be used. Sorting and presenting information are basic AI uses nowadays. It can enhance creativity, help with writer’s block, be a revolution in the medical field and can also help with visualising any type of written raw material. So far it has been made for people to use and not against to be used them; even though there are t imes it has been used for the latter. Once we start prioritizing originality over personal benefit, AI will never be a big competition, let alone a threat. We also need to be careful about how and why we are using it.
